Zendaya is singlehandedly saving summer style. As 'fits out of Telluride Film Festival make chunky boots and cosy autumn layers look more and more appealing, the 28-year-old actor is here to remind us that September has only just begun. If you find yourself in Los Angeles like Z and her boyfriend, Tom Holland, that means you're in for at least another month of high temperatures (if not more).

But don't fret, Zendaya just proved it is possible to elevate a basic tank top and shorts by leaning into unexpected proportions and season-less accessories. While out and about in Calabasas with Holland, the Euphoria star paired a simple white ribbed tank top with a pair of wide-leg navy trouser shorts, also known as culottes.

With her hair slicked back in a bun, Zendaya styled the below-the-knee shorts with a pair of black Mary Jane mules and a lightweight lime green jacket, which she kept draped over her arm when it got too hot. You can see the photos here.

As prep school style and corpcore continue to dominate autumn fashion forecasts, it was only a matter of time until Zendaya demonstrated how to make these divisive cropped trousers look effortlessly chic. The white ribbed tank was all she needed to make the conservative piece feel casual and fresh — and I'm not the only one who wanted to cop her style immediately.

Tom Holland matched his girlfriend's vibe in a white tank top of his own, which he paired with brown athletic bottoms and white trainers. Of course, white tanks weren't the only pieces these two had in common, as both finished off their looks with a simple gold chain necklace and the most season-less accessory of all: a cold iced coffee. (Well, at least when you live in LA.)
