These stars prove there's a red hair shade for everyone, from auburn to cherry
Of all the shades, red hair is the one that’s really having a moment. Spotted both on and off the red carpet, this hair colour (in all its nuances) is here to stay.
While we've long admired natural shades on redheads such as Jessica Chastain, Isla Fisher and Karen Gillan, many other celebrities have been giving these warm tones a spin. Remember when Dua Lipa debuted a bright cherry-red bob, then Kim Kardashian-West followed suit not long after? Or when Zendaya dyed her curls auburn red… so all the girlies and dyed their curls auburn red.
Since then, our Instagram feeds have been full of red hair inspo from our favourite stars. Whether it's the hi-vis cherry shades favoured by the Kardashian-Jenners or the deep, merlot shades like those seen on actress Crystal Reed, rapper Ice Spice's coppery red or those natural strawberry blonde hues on Camille Razat – there's a shade of red that can suit every skin tone.
Pretty ways to wear it 🍓
Red hair can be tailored to suit any personal style, too – whether you prefer a sleek and straight bob, beach waves or full, natural coils.

According to Zoe, the current trend is for “a warm wash of colour that is based around the magical light that happens in the evening,” and ranges from sun-kissed strawberry blonde to a baked terracotta.

What red hair trend can we expect to see in 2024?
“We've been loving all the copper and pumpkin spice shades in AW23, but moving into the new year we'll see this shade adopting a brighter persona with apricot red,” predicts Michelle Billington, Hair Colour Expert at Jerome Russell.
“This orange-toned red has a tangy hue with hints of copper. It can be worn as balayage, highlights or even all-over colour, and is a perfect shade for people who’ve already pre-lightened their hair.”
