Kaos season 2 is all we can think about after we devoured the first instalment of the series following its arrival on Netflix on August 29. From The End Of The F**king World's Charlie Covell, the series sees Jeff Goldblum taking on the role of Zeus in a brilliantly dark comedy.

Through Kaos we see Zeus frantically trying to prevent the unfolding of a prophecy that foretells his downfall, with him finding himself bound to three mortals along the way.

So will Goldblum and gang be returning for Kaos season 2? Here's everything we know so far.

What would the Kaos season 2 plot be?

In the finale episode of Kaos' first season it's revealed that Zeus' (and the rest of the Gods') immorality is dependent on meander water. Though the King of the Gods gives a bottle of the water to each of his family members, his son Dionysus (Nabhaan Rizwan) seems to have other plans for the sacred water.

With that in mind, we'd expect a potential second season to pick up from this point, with there being plenty of loose ends to tie up.

Is Kaos season 2 confirmed?

At the time of writing Netflix is yet to confirm whether Kaos season 2 is on the cards, but this isn't surprising given that decisions on renewing seasons are very much informed by how well something is received by audiences.

Perhaps fair bearing in mind that the first season has only just been released, but we remain hopeful given that Kaos quickly made its way into Netflix's top 10 shows following its arrival!

Who would be in the Kaos season 2 cast?

We'd expect many of the original Kaos cast to return for season 1, though likely not Minos (Stanley Townsend) given what happened in the first season. We would, however likely see:

  • Zeus played by Jeff Goldblum
  • Dionysus played by Nabhaan Rizwan
  • Hera played by Janet McTeer
  • Hades played by David Thewlis
  • Poseidon played by Cliff Curtis
  • Orpheus played by Killian Scott
  • Riddy played by Aurora Perrineau
  • Caneus played by Misia Butler
  • Ari played by Leila Farzad
  • Persephone played by Rakie Ayola
  • Cassandra played by Billie Piper

When would a potential Kaos season 2 release date be?

Based on timings for a majority of Netflix shows, we'd likely be looking at a few years until we get a Kaos season 2.

Naturally, this would also depend on when (and if!) the show is renewed.

The show's creator on a second season

Encouragingly, the show's creator Charlie Covell seems to be very game for a second season.

In an interview with Radio Times, Covell explained "The idea is three seasons in total. So, that's what I have kind of in my brain... I would love to do more."

Though he's holding off building out a script until Netflix bosses sign off on another season, he added "There's lots of things forming. I've got an idea of what the plot is. But no, there's no script, just lots of fevered documents and stuff that only I would probably understand at this point. But the main story is clear in my head."

Sounds promising!

Likewise, speaking to Variety Jeff Goldblum said this on the scope for a second season:

“I already am wildly curious. I said to Charlie, ‘What happens?’ And Charlie’s got many things in mind. So it’s fertile ground.”

Watch this space.
