As we continue our fashion love affair with Y2K style, it seems only fitting that we follow suit with a search for the best Britney Spears Halloween costumes. Next, we turned to her Toxic look, specifically the red-coloured catsuit that offers maximum style impact with minimal effort. And, of course, we couldn’t forget the all-denim outfits Spears and then-beau Justin Timberlake stepped out in on the American Music Awards red carpet, which makes for a standout couples costume. Plus, perhaps surprisingly, all-denim looks are also a key trend this season, meaning this outfit looks even more chic.
But no matter if you opt to transform into Oops I did it again Britney, Baby One More Time Britney or ringmaster Britney, the key to any great Halloween costume comes from leaving enough time to properly create it. So it certainly pays to be prepared, especially as social media shopping site Like To Know It predicts we’ll be putting plenty of effort into this year’s event – after last year’s searches for Halloween costumes were up 9000% from the year before.

Although this look is undoubtedly iconic, it's the snake that really makes it stand out. So, this stuffed toy version from Amazon is sure to be the perfect accessory. To build the actual outfit, a green crop top and a micro mini skirt or shorts are all you need with the optional addition of diamantés and sparkly body stickers to make it truly shine. Of course, this may be a little chilly in London and even more so in Manchester, so we'd recommend wearing a cosy coat when on your way to the Halloween party.
Flight attendant Britney
The Toxic music video boasts plenty of Halloween costume ideas, whether you opt for the diamond-encrusted jumpsuit, red-haired biker look, or the famous air stewardess outfit, our personal pick. One easy way to lean into the latter is through an all-blue outfit and a statement flight attendant hat from Amazon. Plus, we'd add large silver accessories to really add that fancy dress vibe. Double-denim Britney
Dressing up as Britney Spears doesn't mean you have to do it alone. In fact, the famous Justin Timberlake-Britney Spears double-denim look is a great couples costume and probably one of the easiest outfits to recreate. For Spears, simply shrug on a denim midi dress, or a strapless top and a skirt, and layer up the accessories. A denim bag will only accentuate the look while silver jewellery and that all-important Y2K style chain belt will take you on a time warp back to 2001.
For Timberlake, jeans, a denim blazer and a denim-clad cowboy hat (if you can find one) will see you steal the red carpet style. And let's not forget about the vintage-looking butterfly pendant. In our opinion, this really is one of the best celebrity costumes around.

Although Baby One More Time was Britney's first and bestselling single, the Oops! I Did It Again red jumpsuit is arguably the most recognisable piece in pop culture. Plus, when it comes to Halloween costumes, it's one of the easiest outfits to replicate – yet still creates quite a striking effect. While Spears went for full latex, which we can imagine was no easy feat to get on, plenty of shiny red-style catsuits have popped up on the high street, offering an option that's much easier to move in. Or, to make getting dressed even easier, you can also recreate the look with red leather-look trousers and a figure-hugging top. Simply pair with chunky black boots and white eyeshadow, and you'll be ready to dance in no time.
Circus Britney
Longtime Britney fans are sure to remember her ringmaster era that came alongside her Circus album – you know, the one that featured Womanizer, If U Seek Amy and, unsurprisingly, Circus – and also acted as basis for her world tour of the same name. Taking to the stage in full costume, Spears opted for black sequinned short shorts, fishnet tights, knee-high boots and an all-important military-style jacket. Plus a playful whip completed the look, and it's surprisingly easy to shop similar styles online.
