Bikinis are always high on the agenda, but never more so than at the start of spring/summer – when all that's on everyone's agenda is booking a holiday for some much-needed vitamin D.
It's no surprise, either, that after swathes of swim and resort-inspired silhouettes walked the Fashion Week runways, we're even more keen to grab our beach towels, sunglasses and beach cover-ups. From the swimwear tops at Hermès to the one-pieces at Giambattista Valli; everyone is chomping at the bit to update their bikini collections.

Whether you've been savvy enough to secure a weekend break at a quaint spa hotel in the Cotswolds for Easter, or you're jetting off to climes that are altogether more ~sunny~ (and staying at one of the best hotels in Mallorca, the Maldives or on the Amalfi Coast), there's only one thing more important than your summer dress and face sunscreen to pack. And that's one of the best bikinis.
What exactly deems a bikini the “best” in the world on swimwear? A peruse through the best swimwear brands (read: Frankie's Bikinis, & Other Stories and Free People) shows that high-leg and high-waisted bikini silhouettes still reign supreme. And when it comes to fabrics, crinkle swimwear à la Hunza G continues to prove ever-popular. Case in point: the brand's iconic Nadine silhouette.
Nailing both briefs simultaneously, the design sits high on the hip – flattering every curve – and comes crafted from a comfortable, one-size-fits-all seersucker that stretches beyond your desires and snaps back just as easily. Granted, it'll set you back £175, but when something's going to last you as long as a Hunza G bikini promises to, it's totally worth the investment. Plus, you can always save a few ££'s with these Net-A-Porter discount codes.
Elsewhere, fanciful, feminine embellishments like ruffles, ditsy prints and 3D corsages come approved by the likes of Maygel Coronel and Reina Olga, while bright, bold colours are big on the best bikinis of the season too. Make a beeline for Free People's Swim line for a carnival of colours.
And, lest we leave out the bikini brands who are making a conscious effort to be less negatively impactful on the planet. Faithfull The Brand and Away That Day, we're looking at you and your ECONYL materials.
The only labels to have on your radar.
It's official: ditching your slightly saggy, faded old bikini in favour of an on trend two-piece is a guaranteed mood-booster, even without any dreamy #vacay plans secured for the rest of 2024. So cast your eyes over this lot.

How we chose the best bikinis
We love travelling to sunny destinations as much as the next person, so owning a good bikini is as vital as a passport to us. As a team of 30 people (all of different shapes, heights, ethnicities, sizes, and statures), we've tried hundreds of swim styles from equally as many brands, so we like to think we know what we're talking about. From the way something fits to the materials it was made from, we take everything into consideration and genuinely wouldn't include it if we didn't think it was worth your £.
